B&W Images here.....

Haven't posted an image here for too long. Here's one from last summer (I think) with the 501CM and most likely the 50mm CFi.

I should go back and shoot this as a proper panoramic photo with the CFV-II.

BUT, a proper panorama with the CFV-II???? :) Well here is a "proper panoramic" - taken with a Hasselblad XPan II :) Of course this is not an XPan section, but I could not resist the opportunity for a smile from the wonderful XPan with its 45mm lens and Ilford XP2 @ 400 iSO - I just love this camera!

Well said and a very nice image Simon! Since I don't have a proper panoramic camera like the X-Pan, I will have to make do with Adobe CS3 Photomerge and the CFV files. I will post the results here when my efforts have achieved the desired results.....in BW, of course!

In the meantime, here's another BW image from the 501CM.

Hello Gary,

That is the strangest 501 CM I have ever seen.
I hope this does not confuse Glenn who is looking for a 501 CM camera!

Paul

Hi Paul,

I must be missing something......I don't understand. Agreed, it is not a square image, but what else about this image does not comport with being taken with a 501CM?

I suppose it's possible I took this image with my 553ELX, so maybe that's the problem! :)

I don't keep very accurate records of my film exposures anymore....I've been spoiled by using digital image file EXIF data to keep track of what I shoot and with what camera. Too bad there isn't a way to have a Hasselblad film back retrofitted to capture this data. Heck, I'd be happy if the CFV back just captured more of the camera data.

Sorry Gary,

I was playing a word game and looking at it again I was not even right.
I read picture from as picture of.
Nothing to it.

BTW the 553 ELX is a great body, all EL versions are.
They are built stronger and last longer than non motorised versions.
Top of the cream are the MK 70 ELM bodies.
Their already strong built was improved to make them rock solid.

I would like to repeat the words of Marc Williams:
"Long after we are all gone and are pushing up daisies these cameras will still be going strong."
A bloody shame a decent 500 ELM body is going well under 200 USD these days.

I thought that might be the case, but didn't want to presume to know what you had in mind.

I sure like mine....for my purposes, the only thing perhaps better would be the 555 ELD as the perfect mate to my CFV back.

Absolutely! I figure these cameras will be going strong long after I'm gone, which presents a dilema in and of itself.....when the time comes, it would be nice to give them to a friend or family member who will use and appreciate them.....and not sell them for a measly $200 USD!!

It is a lame excuse but English is my second best language after my native tongue that is.

There are a few more cameras to think about here!

an early Hasselblad photo

here is a photo I took in 1970 as a new art graduate. The Hasselblad was a used 500C with a 80mm lens, Kodak Plus-X film, shot from a tripod at night
in Kansas City, Missouri.

Is this supposed to be a kind of modern STONEHENDGE ? ? ? ?

I had to look again and again to see what it is .
How was it taken ? ? ?

Jürgen

LOL

they are just old cars

just a ragular capture

i don't know the name of it, but a tornado was coming,

so I took of, before i got a chance to read.

Nice postings everyone - and a really interesting variety of subjects, gear, emulsions and even beautiful digital imaging!

Browsing through the images tonight, made me look twice at post #20 - the snow-capped mountain...... and then I realised the man on the top.... and after looking closer.... I realised it is Jurgen!!!

He's back now and told me how tricky a climb it was. Right now he is solving a blue cast issue that appeared in an image probably due to the altitude! :)

I have found some old Acros 100 in the freezer (only 5 years out of date!),which I must shoot again with the 1600F and its very special glass. I'm just hoping we can get some more attractive light down here - been hard to find a reliable day lately.

Keep posting!

I took a good look and was surprised to see Jürgen is carrying his 1600F with 135 mm Ektar.
A pity he forgot the shade!
