Hello all, I have a series of questions I'm hoping to get answers to.
First off, a little a background on me. I am a decently talented amateur photographer. I sold most of my equipment to fund moving to continue higher education. The only thing I kept was a 500CM body, my favorite piece of equipment I've ever owned. I have a little money saved up now and can afford one good lens and some lighting equipment. I would like to start doing boudoir and 'studio' photography on the side. I'm not looking to make this a career at this point; I only intend to do it as a hobby because it is something I enjoy.
So now the question comes, what equipment do I get? I've browsed the forum and really like the results the 80mm produces. However, I have the opportunity to get a pretty good deal on a Zeiss 50mm f/4. I'm inclined to go with this lens.
Next question, for those that do this sort of work and shoot with film. I usedto sell electronics and have found that a majority of people are brainwashed by marketing and most believe that digital is the absolute, and any old technology is not to be trusted. Do you have trouble with clients when they discover you shoot on film?
Any other tips and advice is welcome and appreciated.
