It will not improve image quality but it will enable larger apertures and or slower shutter speeds.
That is why lower ISO is often wanted.

Sure. But a ND filter would fix that here and now just fine, for not too much money.

H Filters

You are right about ND filters. Only thing is where do you get those since Hasselblad only supplies UVs and polarizers.

Could be Heliopan does them but as far as I know NDs are pretty difficult to get for H series lenses.
 
Yeah, but what the heck, why carry filters around when all you need do is slip it down to ISO 50?

That assumes the back can do it (well, the firmware allows it).. If not, the ND is a working alternative.
