Hello all, I have a bay60 /80 lens shade I wish to cut down to fit my 50mm f4 ct lens, can someone please give me the length of the 50mm lens shade? If you place your shade flat on its back on a table and give me its height that would be great, thankyou.

Hm... not sure if this is the best of ideas. The CF50 hood is not only shorter but also wider. I am afraid that you will have to cut it down enough to make it ineffective.

Something I copied from another thread:
"You can get fixed bayonet 60 hoods made for the 80 mm lens, and reduce their lengths to make the optimum fixed hood for 60 and 50 mm lenses.
You need to shorten such a hood by 17 mm for the 60 mm lens, and take off another 1.5 mm more for the 50 mm lens."
I actually did shorten an 80mm hood by 17mm for use on my 60mm lens. It is more effective than the 38-60mm hood.
