Viewing screen

Just got my second 500ELM. I noticed the viewing screen is different from my first 500ELM. I note that in the center of the screen, there is a bright circle about the size of a silver dollar, (not the size of about a dime) on other bright screens. This screen is plan glass with a cross hair in the center, but the area the size of a silver dollar is about a stop brighter than the rest of the screen.

Is this normal for some screens Hasselblad made for later 500ELMs ?

The whole screen area also looks overall, brigher than the one on my older 500ELM. I can see the corners better as well. My older 500 actually says 500EL on the side, but it has the removable screen. Maybe it is a transitional model.

Since screens are interchangeable, when you get a used hasselblad you can get any screen type..that one you mention is the rangefinder type..it's quite usefull to focus..
i've seen the crosshair type too,and the grid one.
