One of the great benefits of moving from 35mm SLRs to the V system is the wonderful optical viewing system and the options to customise to suit your personal style.
I was starting to find it a strain looking through the viewfinder window using my Leica or Nikon SLRs and I found it easier to use my digital compact camera screen.
My first experience of the V system was a wonderfully bright and clear screen using the WLF with no hint of any strain I felt with my 35mm SLRs. The results showed me some improvement in technique for both focussing and composing (getting the horizons straight) was required.
Looking at the options available I have now customised my system to include the following items:-
I will report back on my experience of the new gear in practice and back this up with some results / posted images.

Looking at the options available I have now customised my system to include the following items:-
- PME45 Prism. This helps my horizontal composition as I now keep the camera parallel to the subject and I don't get 'confused' with left to right movements. The additional benefits of steadiness (I can keep the camera very still with the Prism pushed against my eye socket / head) and the camera exposure data clearly visible are a great convenience.
- Grid screen with split image. The gridlines are fantastic for both horizontal and vertical alignment of the subject and fine tuning the focus with the split image.
I will report back on my experience of the new gear in practice and back this up with some results / posted images.
