Using C-lenses with a 2000-body

Hi, I'm new here and would like to start with a question:
is anybody here using regularly C-lenses with a focal-plane-shutter-body?
Right now I have a 2000FC/M, the F 2.8/50, F 2.8/80 and the F 4/250 and would like to add a 3.5/60 and a 3.5/100 or 5.6/120 for general use and occasional outdoor-flash-work. I'm not talking about daily use in a studio...
I'm well aware that the CF-lenses (or CFi, CFE) are built with the use on a 200/2000-body in mind and are the better fit for focal-plane-shutter-bodies but are the older lenses close to useless or just a bit less ergonomic to use?
It seems to me that if the 1/1000 or 1/2000 sec is not needed the use of the leaf-shutter is the way to shoot the C-lenses - right?
Thanks a lot in advance, georg.

CF lenses have one advantage over C lenses when used in "F" mode.
Depending on the mirror program set at the body in "F" mode you have instant view of the scene because the lens shutter is not used.

With C lenses you also have the option to choose between the lenses leaf shutter or the focal plane shutter.

To use the leaf shutter select C at the shutterspeed ring of the camera.
Set the shutterspeed you prefer at the lens.
This way the focal plane shutter of the body serves as auxilary shutter.

In case you prefer to use the shutter of the body select B at the lens and choose the shutterspeed by means of the ring on the body.
That is all.

follow-up questions

Thanks for the „welcome“ and your answer, polypal!
Ernst Wildi recommends against the use („for photography“ :) of C-lenses on 2000-bodies because of „usually“ synchronization-problems between the two shutters. True or will any C-lens with a shutter clean enough to use it on a 500-body also work on a 2000 (in C-mode)?
And to add another question: would you use the leaf- or the focal-plane-shutter for general use up to the 1/500 sec.? To me the use of the leafshutter seems to be more practical (no need to keep the release pressed at longer exposures...) or am I wrong here?
Thanks again, georg.

Sorry Georg you are wrong here.

I do not have the exact timing for the focal plane shutter. It closes the moment you lift your finger of the release burron.
It has the same function as the auxilary shutter when using the leaf shutter in the lens.
This means you have to keep the FP shutter open during the exposure time selected at the lens.
It is save to keep the release button depressed for any exposure longer than 1/30 s.

The focal plane shutter can be used till 1 second without keeping your finger on the release button.
