Using a Xpan-Leica R -adapter

Hi!

Does anyone have any experience with the Xpan-Leica R adapters?Either withe the Leica PC-lenses, or any other lens. I am looking to buy one and use it with a Summilux 50mm f/1.4, ofcourse in non-panoramic mode.

Hard to justify such ring except for a wide angle lens.

50mm already exist with the 45mm. And Leica made nice body as well.
A 50mm /1.4 without usable perfect metering is worthless.

Metering on the Xpan is not bad, just limited in its low-light range. Which is unfortunate. I too fail to see the point in sticking a Summilux on an Xpan. Or more generally: I do not see much point in using an Xpan with lenses that cannot cover the full panoramic image frame. There are better 24x36 cameras out there than the Xpan.

I have a Leica body but the Summilux is kind of my standard lens, I use it on the Canon 5D all the time so it would be nice to use it on the Xpan too.

Just received my Xpan this week. Waiting my 90mm next week.
Just for fun : a dream: The excellent biogon 21mm 4.5 on the xpan with the special viewfinder. xpan_biogon_01_petit.JPG
As the biogon ring is removable it may be possible. Anyway, ring for xpan is not easy to find and perhaps it will not works. And finally a leica or zeiss body is easy to find.

Of course the 21mm will not cover the 65mm however if you use only 24x36 with this lens, why not.
