used 500c/m shutter blades - is this normal?

I'm currently in the market for a used 500c/m or 501cm and I came across a nice condition 500c/m, but I noticed this: Untitled-1.jpg
Could anyone with experience advise whether there is a problem with the shutter blades here? Almost looks like they are cracked. Is this normal?

Thanks in advance for any insight.

Douglas.

This is a normal condition for older bodies with the later used Palpas coating.
It looks horrible but does not affect the performance of the body.
The shutter only acts as auxilary shutter when you change a lens.

This coating can be replaced by a technician if the looks bother you.

Palpas is an improved anti reflection coating that avoids stray light inside the body reaching the film or digital sensor.
It was fitted to all V series bodies from the mid eighties onwards.
