Thin line in CFV shots

Hi,

I see a thin (mostly red colored) line in all of my shots taken with
the CFV. They are in every file and at the same position. The line appears
while shooting tethered as well as while reading from the CF card
regardless whether using Phocus 1.1.3 or FlexColor 4.8.8.
Any idea what that might be ?

So i assume in that case the back needs to go on a trip to Copenhagen or Gothenburg ? No way to fix that myself ?

Dead pixels appear most of the time at random.
This effect is new to me but then again I am no expert on sensors.

If the diagnosis is correct it will be a costly trip to Gothenburg.
Again if the diagnosis is right it will mean a new sensor at $$$$$.

Why not give Ahrensburg a call and ask Herr Carsten what he thinks of this problem?

Nope. This could very well mean a new sensor chip is needed. Typically you get this kind of effect if a transistor no longer properly drives (or reads from) a row or column of the sensor matrix.

I've just been reading about this problem on the Leica M8, some were suggesting it needed sent for a new sensor, while others suggested this could be solved with a simple software upgrade.

I'm not sure of the intricacies of the software that you would need, it might be worth looking into or enquiring about, it may save you having to have the unit sent away.

Maybe Hasselblad could map the "bad line" out of the sensor matrix using features in their firmware. Not something you can do yourself.

Yep, the back is on its way to Sweden for that purpose, talked to a Hasselblad person today.

Thanks to all for the comments, really appreciate. As usual i was assuming
the error on my side and tried a whole series of CF cards, FireWire cables,
Phocus, FlexColor etc.
