Syncing with pocketwizards

Hi,

So ever since I purchased my beloved 500c, I've been wanting to make use of that beautiful leaf shutter and sync some external flashes.

I own 2 canon compatible flextt5's and pocketwizard said that in combination with their $30 (seesh) hasselblad dedicated cable I should be able to achieve what i want.

So after purchasing the cable and programming the triggers to basic mode as instructed... nothing. It just seems as though my 80mm lens isn't sending any signal through to my PW's.

Any one had experience with this or similar, suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Does any other clasical flash works with your lens ?
Ones it hapenend that I needed to repair flash contact of my CF 60mm, since I allways contrôle it befor buying a lens.

How can you use Canon's flash with others than Canon body ?

Which cable did you buy? If you got the PC5H it doesn't work with the MiniTT1 or FlexTT5, only with the non TTL triggers like the PlusX, Plus III and MultiMax.

I have a question too. Any one have a set up of a Pocket-wizard to go with a Compact flash ( mine is Nikon SB 800x) to Blad 203FE camera with a 45digree prism finder with a cold shoe mount. What cables and Pocket wizard should buy please . thanks for the reply.

If all you want to do is trigger the flash you can use the PW MultiMAX, Plus III or PlusX. Of those I've only used the MultiMAX and that was years ago, soon after they were introduced. For cabling you could use a PC1 at both the PW to lens, and PW to flash connections. They also make the PC5H which has a longer PC connector for a more secure fit on the Zeiss lenses PC sockets, but I've never had a problem with standard sync cords. Also, the PC5H is 5 feet long, which is a lot of cable to deal with when you need less than a foot from the shoe to the PC socket on the lens. For the flash cable, they make a PC5N which has a collar that screws into the PC socket on Nikon flashes. That can be handy if you mount a flash in a hard to reach place and you don't want to risk the cable falling out of the socket in the middle of a shoot.

Hi Cyril
As stated above you can use the PlusX, PlusIII or MultiMax - no cables needed - the hotshoe is enough:

These will trigger a SB800 in a FlexTT5
