lovely shots Ian, So great to see some landscapes here too. What differences have you noticed using this Neopan film from Fuji? Do you think the grain doesn't disappear as much as comparative film?
regards
Matt
Acros is my favourite medium-slow film. I like the fact that it has reasonably punchy contrast despite the speed, and I don't mind that it isn't quite as smooth as some of the alternatives, I like a slightly gritty look (my usual film for less sunny days is Tri-X). I'm not so keen on Neopan 400 or faster, they're very fussy about precise exposure and easily get far too contrasty.
Here's my favourite shot from this set, from a roll of Acros developed yesterday:
that's a beautiful image. I can almost see the clouds moving slightly. Lovely DOF. I haven't yet used my 503cx for landscapes. I hope to get out this weekend to capture some broken down old sheds and homes for the Group 2009 Calendar. I will keep this film in mind. Are you suggesting that this film is suitable for overcast weather conditions?
It was sunny enough, despite the cloud, to get decent DOF at 1/250 (I was mostly shooting around f11 or f8). No hesitation using it in those conditions. I was also using a K2 filter, which helped bring out a lot of cloud definition.
You should create an album with these very good B/W images .
Then we could see these images , whenever we enter the forum .
Your favorite is beautiful .
