Portrait: Nik Silver Efex Pro 2 style

My purchase of Nik Silver EFex Pro 2 arrived this morning, so whilst my wife was putting the finishing touches to the dining room ready for tomorrow I had a play with one of my Hasselblad Digital Images:

I used a portrait of Coby, taken on the HC 150mm lens, this was then converted to mono by Silver Efex Pro 2 using the Kodak Panatomic X 32 ASA film filter with an additional yellow filter. Very impressed with the smooth tones and perceived luminance from the skin tones.

Mega version which shows the grain beautifully

That's a wonderful B&W conversion and image Ed! Thanks for sharing it with us. I too got SE Pro 2 recently and have only begun to explore all it has to offer. I'll have to check out that Panatomic X filter now.

Happy Holidays!

CFV-39 + Silver Efex Pro 2

Here a sample conversion .
APO-GRANDAGON 4,5/45mm + CFV-39 ISO100 f=11 .
I think , we should always add the COLOR + the B/W image to see how the image turns out , when converted . Profile of the final image is L-Star RGB to allow toning per personal preference .

Preset sample was "high structure hard" . No further filters but a couple of control points for "conventional dodging and burning "

Hi Jürgen
Nice to see some of your work again - what a weird juxtaposition of architectural styles.
I need to get the hang of silver efex pro - not satisfied with my results so far... I just cannot get the same feel that I had with traditional B&W film...

Great to see these images posted here Jurgen! I got your e-mail and will respond this evening.

I've just started a new thread in the B&W Images section for sharing Silver Efex Pro B&W conversions......I hope to see many contributions there soon! :z04_smileys70:

Please see the other thread GARY opened yesterday for more discussion about B/W and also working with SILVER EFEX PRO , which I think is a great
program . (is it a filter set or a program ? ? ?)
I love it , no matter what you would call it .

Hi Marc......it's in the Image Talk, Black & White section. Look forward to seeing your images and learning from your knowledge of SE Pro!

Thanks Gary! I found it and posted a pretty extensive contribution of how I use the program there, with a Hasselblad digital example.
