hallo, gibt es hier im forum noch andere user die ständig probleme mit phocus 2.6 für mac haben?
ich arbeite mit einem imac 2011er modell mit firwire 800 von lindy 4,5m mit repeater bis zu 10m. meine h4d50 liefert zu beginn gute arbeitsbedingungen. nach kurzer zeit blinkt sie hinten und hört nicht mehr auf = verbindung zum mac verloren. phocus ist dann auch tot und ich muss das programm zwangsbeenden, alles resetten und mit glück gehts dann wieder für ein paar aufnahmen. das gleiche szenario auch on location mit dem macbook pro.
woran liegts? wenn das überhaupt so zu beantworten ist. Danke! André

sorry, but lets try it in english:
i have problems with shooting directly to my imac using phocus 2.6.4! i am using a 4,5m firewire 800 cabel with a repeater (10m). but also when using only the cable with mx macbook pro suddenly the connection ist missing and the hole system is not working any more. do you have any idea what the problem could be? thanks. andré

Hi,

the Firewire specification says 5 meters (FW400 and FW800).
Everything beyond that is lucky if it works.
I've heard some of which is also 10 meters.
In my case, unfortunately, at 5 meters and the limit is reached.

I purchased several cables to shoot tethered. I know what you mean about the problem. As I see it, the cable is so stiff that it tends to pull out of the camera or the computer just enough to disconnect. I think a tripod with a tray for your computer would help or if all else fails, grip tape the connections.
NOT DUCT TAPE THOUGH!!!
