Phocus 2.0 is available

Hi,

Phocus 2.0 is out, check
http://www.hasselblad.se/promotions/phocus-20.aspx

Regards,
Ralf

I've been waiting for it for so long. Just downloaded it and installed it.
Launched it.
Crash.
Launched it again.
Crash.
Repeat attempt another 6 times.
Thought maybe the system is short of memory because of Photoshop running in the background. Quit Photoshop. Restarted.

After restart - launch Phocus.
Crash. Same result for another 5 attempts.
Big FAIL. Turn to online forums to see if I'm the only one who has a problem.
Running Snow Leopard 10.6.2 on a Macbook Pro - 2.4 ghz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4 GB of RAM. HD remaining space 60 Gb.

I can't even get past the splash screen. All I see if Apple's nice 'Problem Report for Phocus' screen.
Help Hasselblad!

I've just downloaded Phocus 2.0, installed and imported/exported an image and all worked well. That's not a test by any means, but it isn't crashing.

Mac Intel Pro Dual Core Zeon 2.66 GHz, ATY,RadeonX1900, 9Gb RAM, 250 Gb drive space on software drive.

Thanks bladdered.
At least I now know that it's probably my system that's acting up. Have to try it on my MacPro (same specs as yours except my ATI Radeon causes the whole machine to hang - buggy video card)...

Help Hasselblad!

Here are a few suggestions.

1 Delete your preference file.
Go to your <User Folder> Library > Preferences > look for this file --> dk.hasselblad.phocus.plist, drag to the thrash and empty.

2. Go to Applications folder > Utilities > Disk Utility. Select repair disk permissions. Once competed, close this application.

3. Restart computer.

Launch Phocus 2.0

phocus 2 up and running

I downloaded and installed it on my Mac Air. Easy install, and a significant improvement over Phocus 1. It feels like Lightroom.

Hello Paul

Thanks for the suggestions.
They still do not work. I don't want this forum to turn into a techhead - number crunching one, but I've attached the error message that gets sent to Apple for their reading.

I've tried booting up in 10.5.8 and Phocus 2.0 works beautifully - even faster than 1.2.1 running on Snow Leopard 10.6.2.
I might just reinstall SL on an external HD and put Phocus 2.0 on that and see if it works. Could be this current install of SL that's causing the problems, seeing how everyone else is doing fine.

thanks again.

Thanks polypal

After going through countless numbers of crashes - I finally discovered one that gave me some form of hope.
<Application Specific Information:
*** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInternalInconsistencyException', reason: 'Can't save store to /Users/eujingoh/Library/Application Support/Phocus/OutputPresets.xml (NSData failed to write to file atomically.)'
*** Call stack at first throw:

So I went to /Users/(my account)/Library/Application Support/ and deleted the whole PHOCUS folder.
Voila!
Phocus now runs beautifully and the app creates a new folder which has no buggy preference files anymore...

Apparently - Phocus does not save preferences in the preference folder anymore, but in this folder in application support instead. I've checked and can't find it there.

Just had to share this in case anyone does encounter the same crashing in future (due to a corrupted preferences folder).
Thanks to all for their input - especially Paul (who came up with the initial solution).

PHOCUS 2.0 installed .
Everthing runs fine so far .
What I noticed : In the user manual it still reads "custom white" function , but in reality it is shown as "scene calibration" .
As far as I understand this function , it is actually Lens Cast Correction .
Three terms , that cause confusion .
