Hi, first off, I'd like to make it clear, I do not own a Hassy yet. It has been a dream of mine since I started photography (14 years ago). I have SLR stuff (film and digital), and rangefinder stuff (film and digital). I once had a medium format camera, a poor man's Hassy 6x6 folder, but sold it since I wasn't enjoying... now, I joined this forum to spur me on my hassy quest... before getting a rangefinder, I joined a rangefinder forum, before I went the DSLR route, I joined a digital photography forum... now it's time to fulfill my hassy ambitions by joining here :)

I really hope to be able to save up for one soon...

If you aren't that familiar with the Hasselblad system, a "fun" place to start is looking at all of the used Hasselblad "stuff" that is available. The best place to do this, IMO, is the Hasselblad section at KEH.com.

I agree BUT: depending where you are (For example, in Europe) buying from KEH could cause grief with regard to customs duties and VAT.

I'd suggest perhaps looking closer to home if you are in Europe.

Welcome - I feel sure you'll be encouraged by everyone here!

I agree.....But KEH web-site has a lot of Hassey stuff that is well organized for just "looking". For those in Europe, VAT + duty is a killer for buying from there.

KEH gives a good selection of what can be found on the used market.

Just take dollars for euros and buyers in Europe have some idea what they will pay in the end for items bought from KEH or other US sources.

Only real problem occurs when the item has to go back because it is faulty.
Duty and VAT are not refundable. Often shipping costs are lost as well.
