Hi there

Can any of you Hasselblad digiback owners provide me with a raw image file? I just downloaded Phocus 1.1.2 on my MacBook for some playing.

thanks,

Wilko

Raw Files

I think you are looking for a DNG RAW file. I can get you one no problem.
Anything in particular you want?

Paul

Are you looking for a file from a particular digital magazine such as CFV or system like H3DII31?

Hello Paul,

A CFV file would be nice, given that if I ever get a digiback (read: can afford one) it will be one for the 500series camera range.

I just want to gain some experience with Phocus on my Mac to get more insight in the workflow involved.

take care,

update suggestion for the Phocus/Mac 1.1.2 manual

Paul,

You might want to let Hasselblad Sweden know that there is some ambiguity in the Phocus/Mac user manual.

In the excerpt from the manual I included below there is talk of the MacBook. Unfortunately Apple, in their infinite wisdom, do not distinguish in the naming of the old generation MacBook (in plastic case) and the new generation MacBook (in aluminium case, also known as Unibody MacBooks).

Both are Intel Core2Duo CPUs, but the new generation MacBook has a much higher performance Nvidia video subsystem. My MacBook reports:

NVIDIA GeForce 9400M:

Chipset Model: NVIDIA GeForce 9400M
Type: Display
Bus: PCI
VRAM (Total): 256 MB

I expect that the Nvidia-based MacBook like I have over here will work just fine performance wise.

Non-recommended Mac configurations
The cheapest iMac model with a 128MB Radeon graphics card will work, but Radeon 256MB HD 2600 or 512
Geforce 8800 GS card configurations are recommended. The MacBook, MacBook Air and Mac Mini all produce
less performance due to the integrated Intel graphics adapter using shared CPU memory. Older non-Intel based
G4 and G5’s with PPC CPU’s will work with Phocus, but with very poor performance. This is because their graph-
ics card adaptors do not meet the requirements for Phocus. Older PPC Mac’s might use 64MB or 128MB graphics
cards and some of these will not work correctly with 39MP images.

If you can wait till tomorrow , I will take an image and send it to you .
If I understand it correctly , you want a 3FR file .
The size can be between 23Mb and say 38 MB . Approx. values .
That size will be too big for E-MAIL .
So , how you want the (gold plated) 3FR file ? ? ?

I can ftp it, if that works for you? There is absolutely no hurry!

I have just sent myself a 3FR file via E-MAIL .
Size is about 28MB . It works . I can then process the file in PHOCUS , new version with newest update , export as TIFF and process in PSCS4 . No trouble .
Sending takes some time but receiving is quite fast .
So , if your e-mail provider allows you to do the same , I could send you some files .

I do hope that you have successfuly received my 5 files .They were taken with the CFV back and you should be able to process them with the newest version of PHOCUS . Using MAC of course . Even if you are a dummie , you will be able to manage that . Blame Paul for that word .

No worries, the files made it to my Mac in good shape.

Plenty of files to feed Phocus..

I am happy to report that Juergen and Paul C. have provided me with enough 3FR and FFF files to do some serious playing with Phocus.

It is interesting to note that Juergen supplied me with a lovely brown Allgauer cow, and Paul C. with some nice lady portraits :z04_Flucht:

My 2nd generation MacBook with 2GB of RAM runs Phocus 1.1.2 without any problems. A 3FR to FFF conversion is a couple of seconds using Juergen's CFV files.

thank you!

Phocus

Interesting to read that once again all models for this testing are of the female sex......
