Hi there !

Hi, new to the forum, but not to medium format. I used 6x4.5 and 6x6 film cameras (Mamiiya645 Pro, Mamiya 6, Rolleiflex, Hasselblad 501 CM, Hasselblad Xpan) as well as digital : Fujifilm GFX 50 and now got a brand new Hasselblad X2D II. I a still in the honeymoon phase, but I do like very much what I get from the X2D, while I was not happy with the GFX 50 MP files and disliked the ergonomy, the film simulations etc... of the Fuji ecosystem. With the X2D, the options can be limited, but browsing the menu is a breeze, compared to Fuji's.
You can see some of my pictures (not yet with the X2D) on my site

Glad you've joined us all! It's always good to hear that people have enjoyed MF film before adopting the new digital media; I hope you are still able to shoot with film occasionally. Like you , I have a history with Mamiya and Fuji, and still enjoy using my RZ67, M645 ProTL, FUJI GX680III, as well as Hasselblad H2 and Contax 645, both with film and digital backs. I was saddened to hear that you are disappointed with the Fuji GFX 50S - I use mine most days when I go for a stroll and enjoy the IQ produced by the exceptional Fuji glass. What was the cause of your disappointment?

What I disliked with the Fuji GFX 50R ? many things.

First, I did't find the image quality was that better from my Sony A7R4 ; some lenses were really god, I liked the 110mm and the 23mm but my other lenses were so so.
Then, I hated the ergonomy of this camera, the way the buttons are positionned, the menu system (didn't like it either on the X100V).
Third I don't see the point of film simulation as I shoot RAW and edit the file my own way.

So why did I bought this GFX camera ? at the time it was the only digital medium format camera I could afford and I was trying to see if I can get back the magic of medium format film cameras. This I sure get from the X2D II.

I have kept the 501 CM, and the Rolleiflex but had to sell the Mamiya 6 complete kit, a Leica M11 and some nice Leica lenses to help finance for the Hasselblad XCD lenses. But no regret this far.
