Hi everyone. I'm Pablo.
Just acquired an X2D and a couple of lenses. First time into medium format.
Based in London, UK. Into portraiture and still life.
I am still waiting for some lenses () to really enjoy it.
I do enjoy tremendously the experience of shooting with it.
It forces me to slow down, to create the scene and settings in my mind well before I look at the camera. It brings me back to the days I was shooting film.
I have never before really used the LCD screen at the back of a camera body. But with the X2D I do find it very enjoyable and so user friendly with the touch screen + AE-L / AF-D buttons.
And without mentioning the ergonomics, design, simplicity of it.
And then the IQ and its organic, natural and phenomenal colours.
Definitely I am a new convert !
I would love to hear how you have been enjoying and how / why it is so special to you.
Hi Pablo. I’m also new to medium format. I got the X2D in April with the light adventure kit.
The kit come with two lenses, the XCD 4/21 and the XCD 45p. The 45p sold in favour of the XCD 38v and XCD 55v.
Main main camera is a Nikon Z8 and a plethora of the Z lenses. From that, to the X2D is a world apart. I simply love the style and simplicity of the X2D. No fancy frills and back to ”pure” photography.

Pablo, I started medium format with a Leica S, which I still really enjoy. I got the CFV II 50 which I pair to an old Hasselblad 500cx and some old CF lenses. I got it with the 40p and since got the 38v and 55v. What I’ve enjoyed most about the Hasselblad X system is the 16bit color and the way it draws using the Phocus app. I am in line to get an X2D to use with that. I’m back and forth with the Leica S because of the incredible weatherproofing but I like the Hasselblad images…. Looking forward to it (South Carolina Coastal area is where I spend most of my time)..
