The HCD lenses (28mm and 35-90mm) are specific to the H2D, H3D, H3DII, H4D and H2F/CFH/CF digital systems and will not function with the H1 or H2 cameras.

Hi Paul,

I am surprised by your reply because one of your colleague here at Hasselblad of France told me the contrary (I can give you his name by PM!) : the HCD 35-90 would work on an H1 with the latest firmware (of course, 645 format is not fully covered : there is a slight crop factor).

I've had replies both ways on here and the Get DPI forum. Very frustrating, especially as in a week or 2 I'll be at the point of buying the 50-110 ( a used copy). I'd much rather have this one if it would work. The data on the actual lens says D series cameras.

I've had my H2 a year now, have there been firmware upgrades for it in that time?

Hello Thomas,

I am in fact correct with my original statement and stand by it. I have worked with the H system since its inception and am intimately familiar with its functionality and connectivity.
Please feel free to try the 35-90 with your H1, you will receive a message on the LCD display on the grip that states "Lens not compatible".

Please do PM the information for the rep in France and i will contact him.

Hi Analog

The 50-110 will work any H or HxD camera. The current firmware for the H2 is 9.5. If you press and hold the illumination button (located above the on/off button on the top of the grip) at the top it will display the firmware for the body. This shortcut has been available since version 9.3.0. If your firmware predates this then you can access the firmware by pressing the Menu on the grip, scroll to Settings, press Drive button to enter, scroll to System Status and press Drive (enter) twice to access firmware. I hope this helps.
