Hasselblad 120 film holder for Sinar F2

Hi there, i'd like a Hasselblad 120 film holder for my Sinar F2 large format camera or whatever you suggest i use instead to be able to shoot 120 film as a back on the Sinar F2.....and ideas where could I get it....

As per recommendation on this site i have already ordered a convertor for my Nikon to be able to mount my Hasselblad's Zeiss lenses - 50mm/80mm/150mm/250mm on it......

.......thanks for your time as ever.....

I think Sinar may have made an adapter to mount a Hasselblad film back on the P series (so it would probably work with the F series). I'll have to check the info I have for my Sinar P to confirm. They might be hard to find.

Since you also said "or whatever you suggest i use instead to be able to shoot 120 film as a back on the Sinar F2".....if you're not wedded to the idea of putting a Hasselblad film back on the F2, then check out the other roll film backs that are designed for use on a 4x5 view camera. I have a Horseman 6x12cm roll film holder designed to use on a 4x5 International Standard style back and it works very well on my Sinar P. Horseman roll film backs are pretty easy to come by, new or used, and are available in several sizes (6x7, 6x9 and 6x12).

However, the most convenient arrangement would be a sliding back adapter of some sort.

thanks for your help....talk to me about the model you depicted....i have seen these available.....how does it all work considering now i simply put in a film holder in front of the ground glass.....

Sinar Hasselblad Adapter

Sinar makes a rear-lensboard with a Hasselblad lens mount on it. You can attach a Hasselblad body (and back) to it for reflex viewing through the blad. I have seen black, and the earlier greenish/grey finish, both types come up fairly frequently on Ebay.

one thing...whats the ritual with these to take a shot.....whats the procedure to use...thanks for your help

I'd say, compose the shot throught the blad finder with the Sinar shutter open. Close the shutter, lock the blad open on "B" with slide pulled. Then cock and fire Sinar shutter. That should do it.

Basically, you focus as usual on the ground glass, but instead of sliding your 4x5 film holder under the ground glass, you have to removed the International/Graflock back that holds the ground glass and replace it with this roll film holder....so it's a bit of a hassle, as I mentioned. Calumet and I think also Sinar made roll film holders that slid under the ground glass in the same way the standard 4x5 sheet film holder does.

I have never seen an adapter for using a Hasselblad film holder, the issue with trying to use a Hasselblad back would be winding the film in between shots. The old Horseman backs had a winder integrated with back, like the one in the picture above.

I had a back on my Sinar that would slide to the right to give me a ground glass that I would focus on, then slide to the left to bring the film back into position. That is the hot ticket with the Graphloc type backs ( like the Horseman ).

I think the adapter that allows you to mount your Hasselblad body to the Sinar back support is probably the best solution for getting the sharpest image as you would be focusing thru the mirror which is perfectly aligned with the film plane.

Good luck and let me know what you end up with.
