H2 system - which lenses

I have just purchased a Hasselblad H2 with HV90x and PHASE ONE P20 and 80mm 2.8.

Can someone here clarify for me which lenses I can use? As well as the lens coming with the camera (I am awaiting delivery from the UK - I'm in Australia) I have an old Sonnar f4 150mm, the silver one. Can I use it with this system, and if so are there any restrictions on camera functionality?

And advice most appreciated.

Welcome at Hasselbladinfo forum, you are not the first one from down under.
There are some more folks reading and posting here.

Congratulations on the H2 camera.
The good news is lenses from the V series can be used.
The bad news is the adapter costs about 1000 GBP.
The are occasionaly offered at auction sites for friendlier prices.

The H system uses Fuji built lenses.
To see what is available take a look at the current UK price list: View attachment HAPL0409.pdf

Thanks, Paul. I guess in that case I'll offer it for sale with the 553elx if i decide to sell it.

Prices are steep but I guess you pay for quality. We have a good site here in Oz that lists all the current prices. I'd love the 35-90 lens but it will have to wait a while - it costs more than the whole setup cost!

Like V series gear H series lenses are beginning to show up at auction sites for better prices.
Hasselblads strength has always been quality and good availability of used equipment.

Keep in mind the 553ELX and the 150 Sonnar both will not bring what you need to buy a used 150 HC lens for the H series camera.
Camera and lens are excellent for portraits.
If that is a subject you like to do maybe keep that gear.

The adapter for the H series makes sense only if you have more V series lenses to use with the H camera.
C series lenses without databus only offer focus confirmation with the adapter.
CFE lenses with databus also offer light metering.
AF is only available with HC series lenses.

I'll probably sell it all, and I know it won't fund a new system lens. I saw the 30-90 online, I'd love that but will have to save some serious pennies for it. I will mainly be doing landscapes so I was thinking a 40 or 50mm lens? And perhaps a tele lens down the track a bit.

I will just experiment with the 80 mm lens it comes with initially and learn what I will need from that.

Thanks very much for your replies.

Be carefull with the choice of a zoomlens. The 30-90 needs DAC, digital assisted correction, only available to digital H series cameras.

The older 50-90 zoom is an option for H series with film back.
For wide angle consider the 35 mm lens.

So would it work with the Phase One P20 back? It is all speculation ATM anyway, I can't afford it yet!

Good question!
I suppose not as the DAC system seems to be part of the later H series cameras.
The settings of the lens are recorded with each image and will be used in post processing.

It does not seem likely that older backs can offer this feature.
