H2 Battery Life

db1

New Member
I just purchased an H2 that camera with the 1850mAh battery and I am wondering what kind of battery life it has, meaning, how long will a charge last?

Hard to say; it all depends on the usage made with the camera. I am using a H1 with film back and its 3 lithium batteries. I would not dare to cite exact numbers of films since there are too many variables. However, I found out that, no matter what brand of (new) batteries I am using, the battery level indicator never ever gave them a full reading. Even new, the battery level indicator tells me the batteries are only half full...

Hii all, i just bought battery 7.2v rechrageable battery. after read the manual books i try to charge the battery, it looks fine when the indicator goes red after half hour it's blinking. I put on the camera H2 then push the power button and the battery indicator shows only a quarter.
Do i shoud rechargeable more than it takes or there is something wrong with the battrey ( dropped/ leaking).

Cheerrs.

It takes approx. 2 hours for a 7.2v Lithium Ion to reach full capacity (100% charge).
Is the light on the charger flashing rapidly or slowly?

I am sending a PM.

From page 23 in H2 Manual:
The red LED indicator on the battery charger signifies the following:

On (not flashing) = battery is charging
Slow flashing (0.8 Hz) = charging is complete and condition is being maintained.
Or occasionally Rapid flashing (3 Hz) = deeply discharged battery is charging (with reduced current)

Battery indicator

I had a fully charged battery on my H2 today and it read 1/4 full. The indicator does not tell the story. I just carry a second knowing the gasoline indicator on the H2 is unreliable. Happens all the time with the camera for some reason.

It may be the 7.2v battery needs to be reset, follow the procedure below.
This will reset the status of the battery monitoring chip (ICA) in the pack to “fully charged”

1. Charge the battery to full capacity (charge between 4-12 hours)
2. Remove the 7.2v Lithium Ion battery, press the red ON/OFF button on the H camera 5 or 6 times to totally discharge all voltage in the camera.
3. While pressing the "Menu" and the "Flash" button at the same time, attach the battery to the camera. If you hear a beeping sound, the re-programming of the battery is successful, otherwise repeat steps 3-4 until the sound is heard.
4. Camera and battery is now ready for use.

My thanks for following this forum and providing advice. Even my dealer (EP Levine) did not know the reset function you describe above. Very few seem to follow this forum, but if they knew you were here more would understand this is a terrific resource.
