I am having some trouble getting an H1 to work. This camera has been sitting for many years unused and I am trying to get it working. I am getting "Service Mode" and a on the top screen and a series of beeps every time I attach the battery to the grip. The camera is locked and none of the camera controls or buttons work.
A little background.
One of my commercial clients purchased this H1 with a leaf Valeo 22wi back in 2001 for an in-house photo studio, shortly there after the department was dissolved and the camera found its way into a filling cabinet drawer.... what shame. I recently convince the client to let me borrow it to try and get it working so I can use it on their work and hopefully on my portrait work.
When I received it the batteries were dead. I replaced them and the camera worked for about 20 minutes then locked up receiving the "Service Mode" warning, not long enough to test the back and get an image but the back does power up and will connect to the Leaf software. For the 20 minutes I was able to work the menus and focus the camera, the back was not powered up, it needs to be directly connected to work.
I have no original software, disks, or cables..... just the camera and back. I am on a mac, but have pc available if needed. All my software is downloaded from Mamiya/Leaf and Hasselblad and is the current versions available. I am able to connect the back to the Leaf software but the Phocus software does not see the camera for any type of firmware update or reset.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Even if I find out that it needs to get serviced I can at least stop messing with it and possibly making things worse.
Thanks
Rob
