Nice portrait shot!

The new 150N may indeed be better, but for portrait work it probably doesn't make much difference since who cares about the corners? In fact, I often vignette and soften the edges even more for portrait work anyway.

The new 50-II is another matter ... that lens is visibly better across the board ... but you sure pay a premium for that privilege.

The other question is whether these improvements aren't aimed more at users of the H4D/60 or 50MS/200 ... and beyond, where the difference may show up more over the 31/39. It may be a big fat waste of money if not shooting with a super hi-res back locked down on a tripod with a cable release.

And so you should be..... they are fine tools.... as your photos show!
I sometimes feel that at times we get too hung-up with equipment perfection than actual photography...:)
