Well, actually the title is not correct, but I thought I'd start a thread for the poor people (like me) who won't ever see a CFV-39 on their cameras :)

Long live film!

Snaps taken this afternoon with my new (to me) 40mm CF FLE - my new 'standard' lens...

Great photos; great lens.

What the heck is a CFV-39? It seems to be poisoning the website.

Real photographers use film, the rest are just digi-snappers.

Have you forgotten the possiblities PS gives?
Fixing your cameras up with a nice CFV39 is not a problem.
Using the photoshopped CFV may proof to be more difficult!

Excellent results.
Quite good of you to avoid the putholes in the rear element.
Who needs a DB wth this kind of image quality?

Paul

The Power

Great pictures ... but use the power of AND
And CFV-39 and Film ... Love both and use both where and when
appropriate.
Just a thought ... good luck

OK, I'm game - let's try this "And when someone gives me a CFV-39...." or even better "And I'm wondering if I'll ever be rich enough"

I love the facility of digital - my D700 is a breeze - shoot and have the results up on the screen in no time, but I also have to consider other parameters...food, my girlfriends penchant for handbags...you know, the important stuff of life. (I'm just jealous!)

The advantage for Hasselblad is this story never ends.
No doubt after a CFV39 you will consider the new 40 mm IF to get maximum results from the CFV.
After that........

Progress which I think is the right word considering the features of the CFV39 can not be stopped.
That said many users are quite right to use film where possible.
Results from scanned film are time and time again impressive.

If you can suck up the cost of the DB, then you have to suck up the cost of Photo$hop, up grade or replace your computer, and buy a Raid back up system only to have your work disappear when the computer systems are up graded, when jpeg is revised or replaced or when you pass on and there is nobody to service your memory storage.

And yet negatives can survive even the conditions of being stored in a shoe box for decades. Do not do this at home with your CDs and DVDs!

Steve

Digital is here to stay and we better get used to that.

Film is going to stay as well at least for another decade.

Let use both and enjoy doing what we like most: taking pictures.

Paul

. but use the power of AND
And CFV-39 and Film ...

don't want to start a whole never-ending argument here but, remember one thing the CFV-39 is not a 6x6 frame.... so 'and' is nowhere near

:D

now say a leica MP and a leica M9... then I will accept the use of 'AND'

Funy to see so many expensive digitals gears fanatic users, now turning to film.
I don't understand why, even if I gently come back to films too, and looking for a CFV-39 at the same time.

"CFV-39" appears so often at this site, perhaps a separate subforum should be setup for it. Then the rest of us [including the film users and the other digital users ;) ] could put it on ignore subforum.

Steve

back in the days the H system and the V system were in the same sub-forum, there was no distinction whatsoever... imagine my frustration..... people asking 'autofocus points' questions and other software parafernalia.. in fact if you see the H system threads (even today) they are so sad... bugs, laptops, crashes, v.1.3.4.66, calibration, you name it

:D

now things are much better, I find fair to see CFV threads as it is really related to the V system, and most of the time an important and interesting conversation develops....

C'mon guys, this was just a slightly non-serious attempt to show off my photos - pffff....I shall be more careful next time :z04_hinterherjagen:

Now where did I put that A12 tilt sensor adjustment chart....?

Ian

You need no tiltsensor here .
EKTAR meets EKTAR .
First results HASSELBLAD 1600F with EKTAR 2,8/80mm lens and the new EKTAR 100 CN film .
Some more "rotten" stuff and pipes . Sorry , but I do like that kind of stuff .

There is no EKTAR 100 option in SF Ai scanner software . So I choose PORTRA 160VC .

Jürgen

Ektar lens meets Ektar 100 film after 58 years.
A good idea to show full circle of Kodak developments.

Thank you Jürgen.

Very nice Jürgen :)

Note to other forum visitors: For those of you who don't recognise the location, Jürgens' photographs show part of the high-pressure alcohol distribution system at Polypals castle...

I am fine

I am fine with whatever agrument is brought up. Just say, I love Portra 160VC film and Kodak BW film as much as I love my CFV-39 ... I hope film will be with us for a while to come AND digital Hasselblad will for sure continue to set new milestones in photography ... Good luck to all

So what!
I like to have a glass of wine now and then.
What is wrong with that?

My problem is I like to have the best equipment around me.
Pro audio gear that will make any studio owner jealous, a couple of nice Hasselblads to take pictures.
A few old cars with a three pointed star that serve me well.
The only thing that needs to be upgraded urgently is my Cessna 172.
Must check if there is a nice Learjet available now with all those tycoons losing their shirt in the crisis.

Steve

If you believe that the CFV-39 is poisoning this website , I will not use that term anymore .

You don't really mean that , do you ? ? ?

:z04_photos: Film or digital , that is not the question . :z04_photos:
The only important thing is the result .
BTW , all images in this forum are digital . If people who use film would not have the ability to scan their films , they could not show the images here .
