First Light! Lessons Learned

This morning I took my first roll of film with my Hasselblad 903 SWC. I shot one roll of film to test the camera out.

Lessons Learned: I got six excellent photographs of the backside of the lenscap.

Note to Self: Remove lenscaps and the darkslide before taking a photograph! ​

Haha. Yes that happens. Just a tip because I messed this up myself. Do not use the T-lock when using a cable release. This can cause the camera to lock up.

That happened to me as well . We call that shooting black boxes in a tunnel .

You are not alone. When I picked up my first roll of film with my 905SWC, I found that the whole role of film was unexposed.

I suppose they are all out of focus.
Or have you got an SWC with that focuses from 50 mm onwards?

And there I was, feeling all pleased with myself when I saw my 'lens cap on' photos - I thought it was all part of joining the "SWC Club" initiation ceremony....

...now everyone's doing it

That reminds me of the absolute same situation in France , when I visited the CHATEAUs de la Loire .
A japanese tourist had the lens cap on his little rangefinder camera .
I pointed that out to him , and he said to me : Thank you , if the cap is on , the camera would not work .
5 minutes later he came back to let me know , that it really does not work when the cap is on .
He did a shot with the cap on and the camera worked .
This is a true story . An other one who shot black boxes in a tunnel .
This is all so human , and we really should laugh about it . It does all those very good who made the same mistake . Me too .
