CZJ Sonnar 2.8/180 on Hasselblad

Finally I made an adapter to mount Sonnar 180 on Hasselblads with focal plane shutter. Focuses to infinity of course. Biometar 120 can be mounted too, not sure about wider lenses. If anyone interested, will post drawings of the adapter later.

Great job, congratulation! I dream to make such realisation with a 110mm only to get tilt movment to improve DOF for prortrait.
However the F 150mm/2.8 is not a bad lens and the CFE 180/4 is one of the best lens producted by Zeiss.

Thank you.
There may be many reasons to do this. As for me, I intentionally chose 2000 over 500 to be able to do experiments like this, for someone 180/4 may be to dark, for someone too expensive and so on. Many people purchase Kiev or Pentacon because they like older CZJ lenses but using Hasselbad is of course much more pleasant.

Interesting. It would be really fun to see the drawings for this adapter.

I'm currently waiting for second version of the adapter to be manufactured with minor updates. I will wait for it to be ready to check if my drawing is correct and will publish it then.

Pronvit,

Whom are you using to the adapter? Once the adapter is made, who is re-trofitting the adapter to the lens of choice? I notice that the rear of your CZJ Sonnar require some machining of te rear to allow for clearance of fit to the 2000 or 200 series.

Which lenses beside the CZJ 180mm & CZJ 120mm Biometar are you modifying for future uses? Please keep us posted.

Evan

Finally I can post drawing of adapter for CZJ Sonnar Zebra - http://www.wuala.com/mifki/Public/Hasselblad-Sonnar Zebra Adapter.pdf/

No changes to the lens required. I cut part of rear element of my test lens but later realized that it wasn't required at all. However part of inner ring (the one with holes) of my adapter must be cut away to mount it on the lens. It will be easily noticeable what to cut , it was just easier for me to do this manually than to measure and draw that's why it's not included in the drawing.

Now I will make an adapter for Zodiak-8 3.5/30 fisheye lens. Also I need to check if the same adapter will work for MC version of Sonnar and maybe make an adapter for Biometar 120mm. If you know of any lens that really worth mounting on Hasselblad (from any other system), let me know.

I adopted a Pentacon 500 f5.6 lens once upon a time. It was an interesting lens. Resolution not to be compared to Hasselblad lenses but had a wonderful bokeh and very shallow depth of field at f5.6. I liked the pictures from that lens a lot.

Pronvit,

Have you tried adapting the Arsat 55mmF.40 PCS or the Mamiya 645 50mm F4.0Shift lens? Better yet, the Schnieder-Kreuznach Angulon 55mmF4.5 PCS is the best of the shift lens out there. Just a bit harder to find.

I have a Hartblei 65mmF3.6 PCS and HAD a Hartblei in Mamiya-mount 645 65mm Tilt & Rotator that was never returned back to me by Hartblei.

A Tilit & Shift lens for the Hasselblad 2000/200 series body would be nice to have.

No, I haven't. But it's definitely a good idea. Maybe later I'll try to find tilt-shift lens, it seems they all are quite rare.
Also I was thinking about adapting one of Mamiya soft-focus lenses.

pronivit,

Look for the Mamiya 645 50mm Shift & the Mamiya 645 145mmSF.
Both lenses are available inexpensively. The 50mm Shift around $400-500 and the 145mm SF (Soft Focus) about $175 - 275.

The 55mm Arsat would be a tad harder to find. Its SHARP,but has a slight Yellow tinge to its final images.

If I remember correctly the mamia, even though 6x4.5, was actually converted to Hasselblad. Anyone here who remebers it. It comes up, though rarely, as second hand. If there is vignetting I don't know and neither if that lens is the same as currently sold.

645 isn't 6x6...
