CF 350mm lens and 86mm filters?

Anybody here tried to use 86mm filter on a CF 350mm?

The C version of the 350 and 500 lenses uses 86mm filters that are mounted between the shade and the lens.
But the CF version is using 93mm filters that are mounted "within" the shade. The shade is split in two, one adapter and one shade part.

But I wonder if use my 86mm filter on the CF lens if I would get vignetting?
Any suggestions or comments?
 
Most probably would not be a problem.

I had a 86mm orange filter on my CF40 (with a small spacer ring to
ensure it did not touch the curved front element of the Distagon).
There was minute vignetting, so on a 350mm tele it should not be any problem
