ArcBody Mount Question

New Member
OK, I do know that one can not use regular Hasselblad lenses on an ArcBody - that part I understand. But, short of the rotating coupling pin that cocks the shutter, is the lensmount physically the same bayonet as that found on regular Hasselblad bodies?
For example, would a Hasselblad bayonet bodycap fit on an Arcbody? Or an aftermarket lens with Hasselblad lens mount?
thanks!
Robert

A while ago I put this question in the H system area. I'm sorry about that.

ArcBody Lens Mount

Still trying to find out if the Arcbody lens mount is physically the same as the regular C Hasselblad lens mount. I know you can't use the regular Hassy lenses on an ArcBody but is the bayonet the same on both?

Hi, just wanted to join in with this post as a Flexbody user.

Also interested in exploring the similarities between the V system lens mount and the Rodenstock Arcbody lenes.

I believe from online research rather than 'hands on' experience that the arcbody lenses are Rodenstock grandagon lenses with a Rodenstock focusing mount.

From looking at images of the mount on the 75mm it seems like the bayonet is fairly flush with the rear element but both the 45mm and especially the 35mm have the rear element and 'housing' placed well behind the bayonet.

Coming from the perspective of a flexbody user needing a wider view than a 40mm CF and more shift than the regular Hasselblad wide lenses can provide, if the bayonets are interchangeable I would be very interested to hear if anyone has looked into mounting any of the Arcbody lenes on a flexbody. Modded or not....

If anyone on the forum has an arcbody and any other Hasselblad body it would be a good starting place to know it at least the arcbody body cap fitted on a regular Hasselblad body?

Many thanks, matt

I recently bought an arc body - my first and (so far) only Hasselblad so I can't help too much, but what I can add is that:
The lens cap and body cap are identical i.e the lens cap fits into the body's bayonet.
The lens cap is part no. 57692 and has printed on it:
"ArcBody camera and lens front protective cover"

Ive attached a few pics:
-002 = body without lens
-004 = lens front showing identical bayonet socket
-005 = lens back

Im interested in a couple of possible options:
1: Possibility of using different lenses with the body - it's a standard copal 0 shutter so presumably the helical focus has a standard copal 0 sized hole.

2: Creating a mount to use the arcbody lenses on a view camera with more movements when required.

Sorry for the delay in replying JZA and many thanks for posting the photos of the Arcbody and lens.

I have taken a few pics of my Flexbody and the rear of a 160mm CB lens.

To me the lens mount looks the same on the V system lens as the Arcbody with the exception of the cocking / firing pin on the CB lens.

CF (or C/CB etc) lenses mount 90 deg clockwise (looking at the front of the camera) on a Flexbody but on your Arcbody it looks like the lens would be turned 90 deg anti clockwise..

I have tried to show the depth and how much the pin 'sticks out' from the rear of the mount. Also how much the 'drive pin' on the body 'sticks out' as for me this would be the part which could foul on the rear of an Arcbody lens.

I guess the only way to know for sure is to get the things together! Not sure where you are in the world but I am in London. Feel free to message me of list if you want to meet up and see what is possible.

Alternatively you could find an old (and possibly cheap) Hasselblad extension tube on ebay and test it that way?

As for putting the arc lenses on a large format view camera, if the mounts are interchangeable I know Sinar made nice a Hasselblad lens mount which had h and v shift for when you ran a Sinarcam stand alone. I have also seen similar items on ebay possibly made by Widepan without the shift (but you would obviously have that on the view camera.

Hope the info helps.
Matt
