5O3cw japanse version?

Some 503CW`s are advertised as `japan star' 503CW`s, and show an asterix in the 503CW logo.

Is it true they are different quality, as intended for the japanese market? Or is this non sense? I`m curious about this...

I don't think the star makes any difference to anyone other than the Hasselblad distributor in Japan. I used to live there and bought my 110/2 lens there, and it has a star on the lens. From what I understood, it was just there to indicate that it was officially imported into Japan, and therefore covered under the local warranty. I think this is similar to what Nikon USA does.

seller is advertising as 'better quality because intended to the japanese market', but i think you're right.

Nevertheless 503cw with the * are more rare, whatever it's worth.

Does somebody think these 'japanese' 503cw's will become like 'collector item's' in time, only because they are rare? Or am I missing the boat here?

Unlikely. I'm sure thousands of this model have been sold in Japan since it was introduced.
