500 ELM single exposure reset

I use a number of 500 bodies (EL; ELM and ELX) for a variety of Scientific Images and I recently ran into a problem with the ELM. While shooting in the Multi "A" mode and "S" Mirror up mode all is great and resets without any problem, but the system does not reset after a single exposure and I have to move to the time, lock, charging lever to reset and ready for the next shot. Not sure if that's a mechanical issue or something I have to reset. In 36 of using the 500EL cameras I have never seen that before. The camera works great with the CFV digital back and multiple lenses without any problem Any suggestions will be appreciated.
