For my H3D ii, I have the 80mm, 50-110mm zoom and the 28mm, plus 3 extension tubes. In my small studio, the zoom lives on the camera on a tripod And I'm generally at either end of the range. If I'm doing portraits I'll often change for the 80mm and use the cameras hand held. I never use the HCD 28mm indoors.
in direct answer to your question, it depends what you're shooting. 50mm is a big distance from 80mm, but is likely to be on the camera more frequently than 35mm. If you shoot urban and street, or natural landscaoe, then 35mm provides a very different view to the 80mm and would be a good choice, but may be less useful in a studio setting, imo.
