2000FC/M - Winding Crank

Hello,
I was wondering whether it is possible to change the winding crank from the 2000fc/m with the metering knob?
Another question was if it is possible to fasten the crank as mine seems to be a bit loose.

With best regards,
Phillip

The 2000FC and the 2000F C/M bodies have a fixed winding knob that can not be removed other than by a technician.

Later 2000 bodies like the 2000 FCW and the 2003 FCW have knobs that can be removed but these bodies do not allow the fitting of the metering knob because they have a different layout to attach them to the body.

The metering knob fits the following bodies:
500C, 500CM, 503 CX.

The 503CXi uses the same knob as the 2000FCW and does not take the metering knob!

Thank you very much for the valuable information!
I have yet another question:
Why does my shutter release button only work after i used the pre-releaes latch? Am I doing something wrong or is the release button defect?

Hello Phillip,

First thing I recommend is fit a new battery to the camera.
If the battery is no longer suspect and the problem is not gone there is most likely a problem with the camera.
Battery is a PX28 or equivalent.

With your camera the shutter should open as soon as you lift the film back just a couple of millimeters from the body.
It should do so several times of course you need to cock the shutter before you repeat that action.
If the shutter fails to open or does not repeat that several times most likely the battery has lost its power.

The 2000FCM is a much improved version of the 2000FC body.
It is not just the feature that opens the shutter before the film back is removed.
