Hi, all - can anyone provide the factory spec. for shutter speed tolerance? For ex&le, what is the allowable shutter speed +/- for a 1 second setting?
Cheers,
Mike
My tech once told me that +/- 1/6 of a stop is considered accurate for a spring actuated shutter. So at 1 second somewhere between .84sec and 1.16sec. He also stated that if it's out more than a 1/3 of a stop it's time for a service. Now a days an electronic shutter is probably 1% or less.
Electronic shutters have mechanical parts that influence accuracy.
"F" bodies have only limited means to adjust speeds individually.
Up to 25 % tolerance especially with 1/1000 and 1/2000 is accepted.
