I just picked up a mechanical cable release for my 203FE. I screw it in and snap a picture, but when I wind the film it takes another picture right when it cocks. What am I missing? I don't have to unscrew it every time, do I?
Make shure , that the release plunger comes right back out again , after you
pressed it in for shooting your image .
If the plunger does not come back out again , your described issue will be present .
If have just tried that out with my 203FE .
There are cable releases , where you can affix the release plunger . This is for long exposures , like for example 10 seconds in the B position of your C/CF/CFE lens or your shutter speed ring of your 203FE .
